How to Apply for NZeTA in 5 Steps

Select Your Visa Type

Choose between Tourist ETA (for tourism and business) or Transit ETA (for transiting through New Zealand). Then select your preferred processing speed: Regular (24-72 hours) or Express (12-24 hours).

Complete Personal Information

Fill in your personal details exactly as they appear on your passport, including full name, date of birth, nationality, and passport number. This information must match your official documents.

Upload Required Documents

Upload a clear photo of your passport bio page and a recent facial photo. You can use your smartphone camera for both documents. Ensure images are clear and well-lit for proper verification.

Review & Payment

Review all information for accuracy before proceeding. Make secure payment via Stripe using your credit or debit card. Your application is submitted once payment is confirmed.

Receive Approval

You'll receive an email confirmation immediately after payment. Your NZeTA approval will be sent via email within the processing timeframe. No physical document printing required—it's electronically linked to your passport.

  • Malaysian citizen or permanent resident

  • Good character (no serious crimes)
  • Sufficient funds for travel

NZeTA Processing Times

Regular Processing

24-72 Hours

Standard processing time for most applications. Suitable if you're not in a rush to travel.

Express Processing

12-24 Hours

Priority processing for urgent travel. Get your NZeTA approved faster at a premium rate.

Note: Processing times are estimates. The actual time may vary depending on the completeness of your application and the accuracy of information provided.

What Happens After Approval?

Once your NZeTA is approved, you'll receive an email confirmation with your application reference number. Your NZeTA is electronically linked to your passport and is valid for 2 years from the approval date, allowing multiple entries to New Zealand.

Important: You don't need to print your NZeTA. New Zealand customs will check your approval status electronically when you arrive at the airport. Just ensure you have your valid passport with you.

You can stay in New Zealand for up to 90 days per visit (up to 6 months for UK citizens). You cannot stay for more than 6 months in any 12-month period.
